New Construction Plumbing in the South Sound
Built Right from Day One
From rough-in to final trim, Daley Plumbing handles every phase of new construction plumbing in Pierce and King County. We work with builders, contractors, and homeowners to keep projects on schedule and up to code — with the kind of communication that makes a job site actually run smoothly.
New construction is where we got our start, and it's still where we do our best work. We've plumbed everything from single-family homes to multi-unit developments. We know the permitting process, we know the inspection requirements, and we know what it takes to get the job done without holding up your schedule.
How New Construction Plumbing Works
Three phases, one standard: do it right.
Rough-In
The first phase — running all drain, waste, and vent pipes through the framing before walls close up. This is the foundation of the entire plumbing system. It requires precise layout, careful slope calculations, and a passed inspection before the project moves forward. We get it right the first time.
Top-Out
Also called above-slab work. This phase involves roughing in venting and drain lines above the slab or sub-floor. Vent stacks go through the roof, supply lines are run to each fixture location, and everything is tested and pressure-checked. It's the guts of the system — invisible once the walls go up, but critical to how everything performs.
Trim / Finish
The final phase — installing all the visible fixtures once the walls, floors, and countertops are in. Sinks, faucets, toilets, water heaters, dishwasher lines, supply connections, the works. This is where the homeowner sees the finished product, so we make sure everything looks as good as it works.

Common Questions
How much does new construction plumbing cost in Tacoma?
Cost depends on the size of the home, number of fixtures, and complexity of the layout. A typical single-family home in Pierce County can range from $8,000–$15,000+ for a full plumbing package (rough-in through trim). We'll give you a detailed quote upfront — no ballpark-and-hope pricing.
What permits do I need for plumbing in Pierce County?
New construction plumbing in Pierce County requires a plumbing permit through Pierce County Planning and Public Works. We handle the permit process as part of our scope — pulling the permit, scheduling inspections, and making sure everything passes. One less thing for you (or your GC) to think about.
How long does new construction plumbing take?
For a standard single-family home, rough-in typically takes 2–4 days, top-out is 1–2 days, and trim is 1–2 days. Total plumbing time spread across the build schedule is usually 5–8 working days. We coordinate with your GC to fit within the overall construction timeline without delays.
What is rough-in plumbing?
Rough-in is the first phase of new construction plumbing. It's when all the drain, waste, vent, and supply pipes are installed inside the walls and floors — before drywall goes up. It has to be done precisely and pass inspection before the build can continue. This is the part most homeowners never see, but it's the most important phase of the entire system.
Do you work with homeowners or just contractors?
Both. We work directly with homeowners who are owner-building, and we partner with general contractors and builders on larger projects. Either way, you get the same level of communication and quality. We speak both languages.
